Chia or Salvia hispanica was used by the Aztecs on their war marches for soldier substanance because of the endurance it provides. It it rich in all three macro nutrients, Omega threes and is a complete plant protein source (actually all vegetables/legumes/seeds are complete, but chia is among the highest). It's very easy to digest, is soothing to the gi tract and is also a good source of calcium and supporting minerals. I add mine to smoothies or sprinkle in salad dressings or olive oil.
